What CASA Volunteers Do

CASA volunteers advocate for children who have been abused or neglected by:

  • Visiting their appointed child at least once a month
  • Staying in contact with teachers, parents, foster families, and service providers
  • Building trust through simple, meaningful activities:
    • Take them to the park.
    • Get an ice cream or visit the library.
    • Go for a walk, bike ride, or a meal.
    • Visit their home or enjoy a movie together.

Is This the Same as Being a Foster Parent?

No. CASA volunteering is a lower-commitment opportunity with a minimum requirement of 2 hours a month. It’s ideal for people who want to help children without the full-time responsibility of fostering.
